I explain how we can unlock ourselves from the paralyzing fear of idea-theft and unhealthy obsession over our ‘one good idea’ by accepting two truths. 1.) Our ideas are not as precious as we think and 2.) Good ideas CAN be contrived.

I also share some practical advice for how we can begin exploring ideas and generating new ones, both visual and narrative.

In this very personal interview, Christophe tells the story of his art life.  He gives some thought-provoking insights into his work for Walt Disney Feature Animation (including The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules and Dinosaur) and his time at the Brizzi Studio in France.

He shares some advice about how to become a great artist, a great art director and how to navigate within the american animation industry.

Both of us talk extensively about the making of ‘9,’ providing insight that will, for many people, enhance the experience of watching and working on every kind of animated film.
